Why is sound so important?

Sound is very important in a film because it helps the audience understand what is going on in the film this could be through the narrative or dialog between characters, sound also helps engage the audience this can be through sound effects which takes a important part in a film.

What is sound?
Sound is something that can be heard by the public

What is a soundscape?
A soundscape is combination of sounds put together

What is 'suspending disbelief'?

Suspending disbelief is putting reality aside, to make the audience more engaged

Screening 1 (without sound)

The screening without sound was very confusion because I didn't understand what was going on in the film, I also found that I wasn't interested to it as much as I would be with watching it with sound because I wasn't able to hear the dialog.

Screening 2 (with sound)
The screening with the sound was much more entertaining because you can hear the soundtrack in the background, also hearing the dialog from the characters was much more easier to understand what was going on so I felt myself being much more interested to the film.
